My primary interest as a photographer is focused on capturing my emotional response to the uniqueness of the subject and how they interact with the world to achieve a genuine moment.
The immediacy of photography is the thing that I first fell in love with but the pursuit of capturing something fleeting and impossible to recreate is the thing that keeps me coming back for more. As photographers we are only ever a fraction of a second away from that perfect moment but to find it we must often look beyond the obvious or find the beauty in the seemingly mundane.
My work is inspired by light, shape, layering and composition but based in the lives of others, from street photography to weddings to capturing simple moments in time. For me a photograph should be a revelation of truth as much from the photographer as from the subject – discovered through instinct, executed through empathy but shaped and controlled by considered thought.
