There’s no two ways about it: street photography is HARD.WORK.
Many, many, many hours are spent walking around, looking for quirky, mysterious, humorous, unusual and unique moments that are unlike anything that has come before - or close to it. It sure can be disheartening walking around a city from morning till night and not seeing anything. However, there's a famous Alex Webb quote we like to re-assure ourselves with during a long day of pounding the streets - ‘street photography is 99.9% failure’. Essentially, coming back from a day’s shooting with one photo you really like, can, and should, be deemed a success. But the longer we pursue street photography in general, the harder we are to please, and there’s more we expect in our imagery.
So with that philosophy five 8 Streeters - Adam, Alexis, Dom, Kristian, and Liam - took the flight to Budapest to capture the city in our own individualistic ways, in between basking in the glorious sunshine, and the numerous rounds of cocktails. The post is made up of the three favourite pictures we each took in the three days of shooting. More pictures will be available on our Instagram account over the coming weeks, so be sure to follow us at @the8street to discover more scenes we saw on this trip.
